If I took Suited assessment as a campus candidate, will my data be available to firms as part of the lateral product?

No. We will not share any information about you with any firm without your express permission and only once you OPT-IN to being considered for a particular open role.

Is the lateral assessment different from the one that students take?

Slightly - Suited’s lateral assessment only includes the behavioral portion which is the same as what students take.

If I already took the assessment as a student, can I retake it?

Yes, candidates who already took our assessment as a student can retake it as an experienced candidate (as long as it’s been at least 3 months after your graduation date). In fact, we encourage candidates with 1+ year of full-time work experience to take the assessment again. Also, retaking the assessment provides you an opportunity to tell us about your full-time work experience and what types of roles would be most interesting to you so we can deliver highly curated matches.

If I retake the assessment, will I be able to choose which version is used?

We will update your profile to use your most recent responses, and use that to match you to the most relevant opportunities. No firms will have access to your information unless you have been identified as a match and authorize us to share your information.

Can I take the assessment multiple times?

If you’ve never taken Suited’s assessment before, you can take it only once as an experienced candidate. Those who previously took it as a student are able to retake it once after graduation.

Who does Suited share my assessment results and profile with? I’m worried my current employer will find out I’m open to new opportunities – how does Suited ensure privacy?

You have complete control over who will see your information. Suited does not make your profile available to ANY firms as part of our lateral product. Similar to a search firm, we reach out to candidates who match open opportunities at our clients to see if they are interested in the roles. Only once you confirm your interest and give us permission on a role-by-role basis will we share any information with a firm.

Is there a job board with roles that I need to apply to via Suited?

Suited is not another job board that requires candidates to actively monitor and submit applications for open roles. All you need to do is create a profile, take the assessment, and wait to hear from us about open roles that match the roles you’re interested in. We make sure to only flag relevant job opportunities for you, often ones you won’t find on job boards or even firm career sites!

Will I be contacted by headhunters?

Suited is not a hiring firm and does not use traditional headhunters to locate and spam potential candidates. Our AI-powered insights ensure you only hear from us about opportunities aligned with your skills, experience, work style, and preferences. This may happen quickly or take time for the right opportunities to open.

How will I know if there’s a job match?

When our AI finds a match for a job opening, a Suited team member will contact you at the email address you used to sign up for an account. We will notify you about the opportunity by providing details about the role and firm, as well as specific insights into what makes you a great fit (this way you are more prepared to highlight what makes you a standout candidate if you interview with the firm). If you do decide you’re open to the opportunity and confirm you want us to share your information with the firm, we will connect you directly with the firm’s recruiting team to begin the interview process.

How long will it take to receive a job match after I’ve completed the assessment?

There is no set time we can tell you because you will only hear from us when there is a qualified match to a role. For some candidates that could be weeks, for others it could be months. We are not a source for active candidates to apply to open roles, but rather a place for passive ones to be alerted when a great opportunity comes along.

How much does it cost to take Suited’s assessment?

Suited’s assessment is completely free for candidates whether entry-level or experienced. Just sign up for an account, fill out your details, take the assessment, and be matched to roles at firms that value who you are, what you do, and how you do it.

How long does it take to complete the assessment?

About 20 minutes.

Can I speak to someone at Suited about an open role?

We are not a traditional search firm. Our role at Cypher is to identify and engage great candidates and then quickly connect you with the lead lateral recruiter at our clients. They are best positioned to talk you through open opportunities directly.

Entry-Level

What is Suited and how does it work?

Suited is a recruiting platform that is powered by artificial intelligence. For candidates, it takes the form of an assessment that provides professional services firms with insights into how you are predicted to perform as a potential employee. We are currently serving the investment banking and legal industries.

Suited is also a place for candidates to discover information related to the professional services industry.

Suited is not a recruiting firm and does not operate as a headhunter, however. We do not guarantee interviews or jobs to our candidates. We allow companies who are interested in diversifying their candidate pools to see your profile, which offers a more in-depth view of who you are as a candidate and potential coworker.

How much does Suited cost for candidates?

Suited is absolutely free for candidates.

I'm not a finance major. Can I still fill out an investment banking profile?

Yes! So long as you are interested in finance and investment banking, we encourage candidates with all majors to complete a profile.

Instead, you can simply change your user settings to Public. If you are referred by a second firm, you are able to log in with your previous account and have your information automatically shared with the second referring firm.

How can I completely remove my data from the Suited system?

When will companies start reaching out to me?

Firms will only reach out to you if they are interested in pursuing you as a candidate.

If you are an MBA student, firms will most likely reach out to you in January of the first year of your MBA program.

For Law, candidates applying for Associate jobs will be interviewed in January/February for roles to be filled in the summer.

To check that the firms you are hoping to share scores with can see your results, follow the steps below:

‍

Make sure all check marks are filled in with white for all six sections of your profile (Education, Demographic Information, Work Preferences, Psychometric Assessment, Essential Competencies Assessment, Resume). Once all 6 checkmarks are filled in, your profile is complete.

‍

Once your profile is complete, you can click on the Envelope emblem to see your pending invitations as well as check on your established connections. This emblem is found in the top right portion of your candidate page. If you have a pending invitation to connect with a firm who you would like to see your results, accept their invitation to connect. Toggle to connections tab and any firms who are showing as a connection can view your scores.

‍

If you want all partner firms on our platform to be able to view your score, go to User Settings —> Privacy Settings —> Share my Suited profile “publicly to all recruiters and companies.” —> Save.

If I am not enrolled in law school/I don't have a JD degree, can I still fill out a law profile?

Pursuing or possessing a JD degree is a requirement of the legal recruiting platform.

What are the assessments like?

Each candidate completes the Suited Psychometric and Essential Competencies assessments. These assessments measure abilities necessary to performing the role for which you are applying, such as attention to detail and critical reasoning, as well as your personality and value traits to determine your fit within a firm's culture and working style.

Together, the assessments should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

Are my individual answers to the assessment questions shared with employers?

No, we do not share your unique responses with firms. Instead, your responses are aggregated and scored against a firm-specific hiring model. We share what our A.I. determines to be the four most meaningful traits about you, so that firms can get a more holistic understanding of who you are.

How does Suited help ensure a fair process for all?

Suited rigorously tests all of our A.I. models to ensure they do not advantage or disadvantage any particular group. We will never deploy a model that does not meet the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission technical guidelines.
